I Can’t See My Soundbed In the Opus App

SoundBed not appearing in the connect screen on the Opus app is simple to fix, it’s likely that one of the below suggestions will resolve the issue:

1. Power

Ensure that your Soundbed is plugged in properly to a 120v outlet. Always plug the power cable into the Soundbed first (via accessing the top compartment) then into the wall. Ensure the connection is firmly plugged in on both ends.

Soundbed was designed to power on immediately upon being plugged in. There is no need to press the power button unless you’d like to power cycle your Soundbed.

A future update will enable the power status light (next to the power button in the top compartment). It is possible that pressing the power button assuming that it was off, actually powered Soundbed off considering that simply plugging it in automatically powers it on.

Unplug your Soundbed from inside the top compartment, wait 60 seconds and plug it back in. Sounbed takes about two minutes to boot, after which it should appear on the connection screen in your Opus app. If not continue to the next step.

Update 9/19/23:

The upcoming Opus app release v0.6, coming towards the end of September 2023, will enable the power button status light (next to the power button in the top compartment) - this will illuminate after your Soundbed has fully booted up. Until you install the new version you can assume that your Soundbed automatically powers on when properly plugged in, so note that you don’t need to press the power button unless you’d like to power cycle your Soundbed.

2. Bluetooth & WiFi

Soundbed requires a bluetooth connection to your playback device running the Opus app and a WiFi connection to your home network to connect and play. Additionally your playback device running the Opus app must also be connected to WiFi to control your Soundbed.

Ensure Bluetooth & WiFi are enabled on your device:

For iOS devices running iOS 15 or later:

Using Control Center: Swipe down from the top right of your device screen and tap the Bluetooth icon to enable it so that it illuminates blue, tap the WiFi icon to enable WiFi and connect to your WiFi network if you aren't already connected.

Or you can enable bluetooth & WiFi using the settings app via:

Settings -> Bluetooth -> ON

AND

Settings -> WiFi -> ON

3. Connectivity

If you have restarted your SoundBed, closed and reopened the Opus app and bluetooth and ensured that WiFi & Bluetooth are enabled on your playback device running the Opus app then its possible that:

  1. Your Soundbed is too far from your router

    Locate your router and ensure that it is within 100 feet of your Soundbed, if not either reposition your router or Soundbed so that they are closer together.

  2. Your playback device running the Opus app is too far from your Soundbed

    Ensure that you are within 15 feet of your Soundbed, if not move closer and try again to connect.
